Peter Gehrke
Initially, Peter Gehrke had planned to become an artist, but the more he learned about photography, the more intrigued he became. After many years in Los Angeles, Peter Gehrke is now based in Stockholm. He began taking photos of musicians and the music industry, which gradually translated into him focusing on fashion:
“For me, photography has always been about portraying strong characters and interesting individuals, and this is what linked music with fashion. I enjoy experimenting and constantly challenging myself, which is why nowadays I also shoot film – it’s a different way of telling a story. But regardless of format, the creative process is a collaborative process and shared experience, it’s about doing something together as a team. I like to work with people, the same way that I enjoy skating with others in my free time. It’s not a one-man-show. This – being completely present and focused in the moment – shows in the photo.”
