Balancing on the fine line between enthralling and eerie, humorous, and serious Johnny Kangasniemi’s work plays with our conception of reality. By incorporating 3D and CGI into his practice, he challenges the limits of traditional photography and continuously explores new possibilities within the medium.
After receiving a BA degree from the University for the Creative Arts in London, Johnny now shares his time between Stockholm and Paris.
Combining photography and 3D allows him to work freer, greener, and effortlessly switch from still to moving images. As technology evolves so does his creative expression.
In 2017, he was named Photographer of the Year at the Swedish ELLE Awards. Among others, he has worked with H&M, DKNY, Wonderland, GANT, Elle France, Scandinavian SSAW, and & Other Stories.
